About

Christina Peoples is a Gerontologist, speaker, and founder of Gero-What?!®. She has a Master of Science degree in Gerontology with a concentration in aging and business, which was obtained from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. However, she credits her gerontological foundation to the Historically Black College/University, Winston-Salem State University (WSSU).

"It's never too early (or too late) to start shaping your aging experience."

Christina believes aging isn't just for older adults. Whether someone is 27 and feeling the pressure of cultural expectations, 39 and rethinking milestones, or 52 and prioritizing wellness, everyone deserves tools to support their aging experience. As an Age Enthusiast and advocate for age-inclusion, she is committed to breaking down stereotypes and equipping people with real tools to enhance their own journey.

OUR ROOTS

In 2018, after multiple rejections in the field of aging, Christina launched Gero-What?!®, a name inspired by the question she was always asked when she said she studied gerontology: "Gero-what?!"

What started as a response to the underrepresentation of Black voices, quickly evolved into a national platform for real, culturally-rooted aging education. Through videos, workshops, blogs, and digital tools,

Gero-What?!® reaches multi-generational audiences who are ready to reframe aging, and reclaim it as their own.

Gero-What?!® was born out of resilience and a commitment to amplifying underrepresented perspectives, making aging relatable, inclusive, and accessible for all.
